Ltn. Rudolph Stark (11 wins)

Ltn. Rudolph Stark .

Lt. Rudolf Starck was assigned to Jasta 34 on 18 January. 1918 after conclusion of the flier school. Starting from 10 April Jasta 34took over Triplanes of Jasta 11.

Rudolf Starck got DrI 146/17, used before by Ltn. Scholz, Jasta 11.

Finally it gave a few Triplanes for Jasta 34.

(Q.74, S53)"There is great competition as to who is to fly them, and finally we let the dice decide who shall be the first and in what order the others shall have the turns." ca. 18.5.1918.

On 7 June R. Starck was appointed CO of the Jasta 35b. In its 1933 published diary: Stark, Rudolf: Die Jagdstaffel unsere Heimat. — Leipzig: v. Hase & Koehler 1940. (Q74) English edition "Wings of war" he says Page80: "Several of the neighburing Staffels were better off. They flew the quick-climbing Triplanes or the new Fokker D.8. the flying capacity of which was something almost like a fairy tale."

He does speak about the period july7.1918 until july 19.1918. Probably he had no Triplane as CO of Jasta 35b At july 25.1918 the diary remarked large joy in the Staffel reports. They should get Fokker, and that meant Fokker DVII. Already on 1 August is the fun again past, a bomb attack of the Englishmen, 11 machines were completely destroyed. The remaining up to three were heavily damaged. The Jasta is not operational any longer. On August 24.1918 Rudolph Stark received finally a Fokker DVII (OAW) to 4523/18. This Fokker held up to end of the war..
