V-types - Prototypes
V4 did not have struts between the wings. V meant with these designs "verspannungsfrei".(without bracing wires) (later the meaning in "Versuchsflugzeug" (Experimental aeroplane) changed) . Bracing-free airplane was an important design target (reduce air resistance) of Reinhold place the unusual airplane developer in the fokker-works. Platz wanted to develop also no Dreidecker. He was forced by Anthony Fokker , who had a good feeling for salesable Design. If one compares the draft V4 with V1 sees the backward step. See Q 27, page 27. The horizontal tail unit was implemented in rounded form.
